Spotify Free users will be able to hear their favorite music on even more smart speakers, including from Amazon, Sonos, and Bose. That’s right—free users in Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S. Will, for the first time, be able to ask Alexa to play Today’s Top Hits, their Discover Weekly, or a custom-made playlist on their Amazon Echo or Fire TV. Spotify Premium users truly get the best Spotify has to offer, with an ad-free music listening experience that allows you to play any song or playlist; enjoy unlimited skips; download content to your heart’s content; and easily toggle between your devices—including your car and your Google Home Mini. Spotify Premium users in the UK are able to get a free Google Nest speaker today (September 1) as part of their subscription. The new partnership between Spotify and Google allows premium.
Get started
Download the Alexa app, open it, and link your Spotify account with these steps:
Tap the menu in the top-left.
Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
Select Spotify, then Link account to Alexa.
Enter your Spotify account details.
Set Spotify as your default service for music and podcasts so you don’t need to specify “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands to play music:
Tap the menu in the top-left.
Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
Tap Choose default music services. Note: To set Spotify as your default podcast service, tap Choose default podcast service.
Select Spotify and tap DONE.
Note: You still need to say “on Spotify” at the end of commands to play podcasts.
Now just ask Alexa to play something! E.g. 'Alexa, play Discover Weekly'. Check out the Amazon help site for supported languages.

Add the files to a new playlist.
Log in on your mobile or tablet using the same WiFi as your desktop.
Go to Settings > Local Files and switch on Local audio files. Note: You need to allow Spotify to find devices in the prompt that shows.
Download the playlist with your local files.
